This series of 30 second clips were created as part of my media degree and explore various prescribed colours, concepts and states of being. We were encouraged to use graphic matches, relationships between shots and experiment with alternative ways to make the moving image such as stop motion animation and time lapse. I used a range of cameras ranging from SLR's to point and shoots to acheive varied aesthetics and edited using Final Cut Pro

My interest in film was sparked by my studies at RMIT where the world of experimental cinema, sketch videos and video art opened up. I began experimenting with using visual elements of cinema in order to tell the story or enhance the narrative. Below are some examples of some of the work completed as part of my course.

Video Sketches

The Dollhouse - Art Director (IN PRODUCTION)

The Dollhouse is a short film based around post natal depression. Working as art director gave me the opportunity to collaborate with the director and DOP in order to build a creative vision for the aesthetic of the film. This meant having regular meetings, developing look boards, scouting locations, sourcing/modifying props, set design/construction and doing daily continuity reports. I was also responsible for all elements of costume and make up from developing colour schemes, character profiles and garment fittings to designing and sourcing the garments and fabric.

I also worked as the producer in the pre production and production phase which meant preparing call sheets, developing shooting schedules and organising the logistics for shooting days.

Synecdoche - Group Project

This is a sketch video work that utilises the Korsakow software which allows user based choices to dictate individuals experience and journey through the work and directly impact on its shape and form. Our K-film proposes that relationships can never be pre-determined, they grow larger as a result of doing, we’re friends because we simply continued on with what we found interesting. This project was group based and gave me experience in sound recording, DOP'ing, editing and producing.

Good, Bad, Offal - Events Industry Seminar

As graduating students, we were responsible for organising and putting on a seminar relating to a specific area of the media industry. The aim of the seminar was to provide students with advice on entering the job market via the panel of industry professionals we were responsible for contacting. During this assignment we were expected to be across all elements of project management including

research into appropriate speakers and the issues affecting the selected area of the media landscape as well as, publicising  and marketing the event to the wider RMIT community & the public, planning and facilitating all aspects of the design.

I was responsible for hosting the event as well as formulating the questions for all the guests which meant I did a lot of valuable research into the industry and the indivudals. I also assisted in the design of the space and was responsible for preparing the guests for the seminar by drafting up questionaires and run sheets.

In Heaven, All The Interesting People Are Missing

Riki and Rants Music Videos

I worked as the videographer for emerging band Riki and the Rants which meant I pretty much followed the band around to gigs, rehersals and photoshoots with my camera. The job required me to be adaptable and quick on my feet as shooting conditions were constantly changing. Below is a video I shot of the band playing a guerilla gig in Bourke Street.

I worked as the Producer and Art Director on the following short film. The shoot required me to design all aspects of the set and costume as well as confer with all other departments across pre production and production.
